Who is This Bekah Chick?

Bekah, Ana Rose and Grizz, 2020

As the middle child of 7, I always grew up in a houseful of kids. High school was followed by college. I lived a pretty ridiculous “after college” life as a bar manager/bar tender. I didn’t really find myself and my true passion until 2009. I started to travel the world and channel a lot of the self inflicted pain for good. When you are lost the best thing you can do is serve others. I did a 180 and I started to travel the world on missions. Belarus, Germany, Lithuania and finally found a home in Honduras. The world is a big beautiful place that has a lot of hurt. It was great to focus on others and put energy into loving people the way God loved me. The more I served, the more He showed himself to me.

In 2011 I got myself reacquainted with a stud named Grizz (real name Nathan), they got hitched and planted roots in Lexington, Kentucky. I started my first official business, Simply Done Invites, after marriage as a way to work for myself and have a life of freedom. I honed in on my graphic skills and feed that entrepreneurial spirit. Grizz opened up Stivers Strength and we both found ourself in a position of being self-employed. This allowed us to live in the honeymoon phase for quite some time as we focused on business and travel the world.

When it was time to start a family, infertility issues began. Like I said, it was never a lifelong dream of mine to have kids, but the thought of not being able to have a family of my own was devastating. After years of trying and 6 miscarriages, we got our miracle. Ana Rose was born 2019. First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes baby! You know what comes after baby? Baby product companies, of course! Simply Toofers was born when Ana Rose debuted because babies need all the things. All. The. Things.

As we began our family, 2020 decided to throw us all the curve balls. New Parents, Pandemic, Loss of business… it was a crazy year so we decided it was time to have another kid! Because we are crazy. After some persuading, I told Grizz “one more”. ONE more. Of course, we got twins. It’s pretty poetic because my first miscarriage was twin and my last pregnancy will be twins. We’ve come full circle. Now it’s time to continue on with life and just see what other curveballs we’ve got coming at us! It’s been a wild ride and I can’t wait to keep going.
